Volunteers are an important pillar for our association & eco-community. Vlierhof is bustling with activity and can always use extra helping hands! You can contribute to various tasks and/or chores, such as gardening in our vegetable garden or orchard, chopping/sawing wood, doing handy work, cleaning up or cooking, or brainstorming/building beautiful projects.

While participating you will get to know this beautiful place and its residents. You experience living and working together in a community. In addition to the jobs we take on for Vlierhof, there is also plenty of room to move from and to the site to enjoy the surroundings.

We have several opportunities for volunteering at Vlierhof:

  • Volunteer days
  • Regular volunteering one or more days per week.
  • Short stay of two weeks.
  • Long stay (several months)

The volunteer work.

As a volunteer you are part of the community. In addition to maintenance or working in the garden, there is also a lot of attention for cleaning, cooking, washing dishes and processing the harvest from the garden. There is also a weekly schedule with fixed tasks that are divided among everyone staying at Vlierhof (including the residents).

Energy exchange.

It is nice when you come to Vlierhof that you are aware of our core values, mission and vision. You can read these on the website under the heading community. Vlierhof is a beautiful place that can bring you a lot. In addition to working as a volunteer, there is also a lot of room for personal growth, processes and spirituality. What we do ask for is that you can carry yourself in this. In short, this means that you are open to reaching out and sharing what you are "stuck in", what you are doing or what you want to develop personally. You are part of our community, which also includes the invitation to participate in the meetings and the sharing rounds. It is important that this can exist alongside your contribution as a volunteer. It is important to us that the energy that you bring is in balance with what Vlierhof gives you back. We will also bring this into contact if we feel that something is not right.

Finally, we prefer that when you embark on the adventure at Vlierhof you are also fully available for / on the spot. That gives the most beautiful and valuable experience. We also ask for a bit of surrender. Going along with the ins and outs at Vlierhof. Flying out in between or having other obligations such as work does not fit in with how we want to receive volunteers. If you are staying at Vlierhof for longer than two, this is of course possible provided that this is brought into contact with us before your arrival.
